The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest Discussion

Post by Cloud on April 17th 2013, 8:55 pm

Yeah, I just finished the Nintendo 3DS take on the game. Let me just say, it's much more challenging than the normal quest - more enemies have been added - even new ones, such as the Big Deku Baba! I've collected around 80 Gold Skull Tokens and I'm working on collecting all the Pieces of Heart. Have you tried the Master Quest version of Ocarina of Time yet? If you have, was it the more mild N64 version or the mirrored 3DS version? Post your thoughts here.

What gets me is that early-on dungeons such as Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly, require later items such as the Lens of Truth if you want to get all of the Skulltula's. In a room with a platform, water, and a high ledge with a Gold Skulltula, it took me about twenty minutes to find out there were three invisible Keese. After defeating them, a hookshot target was raised, which I then proceeded to climb, and I got the Skulltula. That was my 81st Skulltula.

The only thing I can say about the Gamecube Master Quest is: How the heck can it be remade on the N64?

Woohoo! I just 100% completed this game on the 3DS. I got every Piece of Heart, all Gold Skulltulas, Ice Arrows, a cow in my house, etc. This was a pretty difficult game, but when I really thought about the dungeons, I was able to complete them pretty easily.

I'm trying to beat Ocarina of Time normal on PSP. Problem is that every time I actually get to the castle it crashes or I get caught.

It probably crashes because the PSP can't handle games like OOT. If you think going into Hyrule Castle crashes the game a lot, imagine something more laggy such as the final battle against Ganondorf. I'd recommend playing on a PC emulator instead, or buying a 3DS and OOT 3D. That re-release of OOT includes the Boss Gauntlet, Master Quest, and isn't an emulation.
